Toe Surgery
Depending on your symptoms, pain and associated deformity, Mr Hayward may recommend surgery to your painful toe.
Hallux rigidus is a condition where the joint at the base of your big toe (hallux) has become painful and stiff from arthritis. A fusion is a reliable operation to help get rid of your pain, but Mr Hayward will carefully assess your foot, as there are other procedures which may be suitable as well.
Lesser toe problems such as hammer toes or curly toes can be surgically corrected, often with a fusion of the affected joint.
